Are you a U.S. Military Vet on strike?

Are you a U.S. Military Vet on strike? You can apply for VA Health Care.

The VA recently expanded eligibility so more Veterans qualify for more benefits. Find out about eligibility.

You will be put into a priority group (based on your service and other factors) to determine your copays

Retired Military have access to Tricare for themselves and their families.

Military Veterans have access to VA health care, and certain dependents of military veterans can also qualify for CHAMPVA benefits, based on disability, where you served, service-connected health conditions, and other factors. For example:

  • Veterans that have a 50% or greater disability rating receive free healthcare and prescriptions with no copays.
  • Veterans with a 10% to 40% rating qualify for free healthcare but may have copays on prescriptions. Copays are at most $33 for a 61-90 day prescription.
  • Veterans that served in Operation Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, and certain other conflicts, or were exposed to toxins with a 0% disability rating could receive VA Healthcare but with a copay. If you have a service-connected health condition, even at 0%, your healthcare and prescriptions for that care is free.
  • If none of the situations above apply, VA income limits apply, but special circumstances may qualify you.

You can apply by phone, mail, in person, or online. For more information and help applying, call IAM Veterans Services at (866) IAM-4VET.
