By day, NFFE-IAM Local 178 member Jansen Robinson assumes the role of a physical security specialist at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds Combat Capabilities Development Command Chemical Biological Center (CBC). His primary duty involves safeguarding the Army’s vital chemical and biological resources.

Over his 17-year tenure at CBC, Robinson has taken on various additional responsibilities, including serving as an Antiterrorism Officer, Alternate Emergency Manager, and Internal Threats Coordinator. Moreover, he contributes to essential functions such as Mission Assurance and the Continuity of Operations Plan. Robinson also serves as an Auditor for NFFE-IAM Local 178.

Outside of his role in his union, and safeguarding the CBC and its personnel from organizational threats, Robinson dedicates himself to enhancing his community. He serves as President of the Harford County Board of Education and holds positions such as Co-Chair of the Edgewood Community Advisory Board, Police Accountability Board, and Board of Directors for the Harford County Library Foundation, utilizing his expertise to contribute positively to various community endeavors.

“It’s important to take opportunities that are available to you so that you can leave the world a better place for your children and grandchildren,” said Robinson. “I hope that my work, both personally and professionally, can improve the lives of those in my community, and our union. I want to set an example for other people to see that their contributions matter.”

“Through unwavering dedication, Jansen Robinson embodies the essence of service, protecting our nation’s vital resources by day, and empowering his community’s future by night,” said NFFE-IAM National President Randy Erwin. “His commitment to safeguarding, both within the walls of the Aberdeen Proving Grounds and beyond, sets a standard of excellence for us all to follow.”
