2009 IAM Photo Contest Winners Announced

The results of the 2009 IAM Photo Contest are in and the winners are:

Jim Stewart, Local Lodge 2323 in Malton, Ontario, won first place for his photo “De-icing Air Force One” that shows members Nigel George and Al Johnston de-icing Air Force One during President Barack Obama’s first visit to Canada. Benjamin Castic of Local Lodge 41 in St. Louis, MO took second place honors with his photo “Drilling Another Hole” that shows member Mike Allen drilling a locating dowel hole through a spur tooth ring gear. Steve Footer of Local Lodge S6 in Bath, ME won third place for his photo “Painting by the Numbers” that shows Local S6 Preservation Technician Mark Gagnon painting the numbers on the hull of the USS Farragut (DDG 99) at Bath Iron Works.

Honorable mention winners are: James P. Miller, Local Lodge 2296; Michael Madden, Local Lodge 112; Robert Christianson, Local Lodge 31; John Rankin, Local Lodge 2339-H; Donald A. Sheldon, Local Lodge 2105; François Goyette, Local Lodge 712; C. R. Ward, Local Lodge 1930; Larry Wilson, Local Lodge 733 and Ron Hedrick of Local Lodge 90.

Winning photographs will be included in the 2010 IAM Calendar. Two dollars from each calendar sold is donated to Guide Dogs of America.
