The “Fierce Urgency of Now” was the theme for the 2019 AFL-CIO Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Civil and Human Rights Conference in Washington, D.C., where delegates took part in a Day of Service. Machinists Union members wrote letters to veterans. They also participated in the nearby National Women’s March for women’s rights.
