Another Victory in Texas Propels IAM Forward

Organizing successes in the Southern Territory continue to add members and recognition for the IAM. Most recently, helicopter mechanics at PAE in Laredo, TX voted unanimously to join the IAM.
District 776 Organizers Chub McCory and Sylvia Zavala led the effort.
“South Texas remains a hotspot for organizing, after our wins last year of almost 1,000 workers at Corpus Christi Army Depot,” said IAM Southern Territory General Vice President Mark Blondin. “Congratulations to Chub and Sylvia for a job well done, and welcome to our new members. Each organizing victory, no matter its size, helps to strengthen the rights of workers across the country.”
The mechanics in Laredo conduct vital maintenance on helicopters for the U.S. Customs Service.
