The 2016 Guide Dogs of America (GDA) Online Auction is officially open for bids. Help provide trained guide dogs for the visually impaired by bidding on some of the over 300 gifts or unforgettable experiences available now through June 12 at 6 p.m. PT.

“We are very excited about this year’s auction,” said GDA President Dale Hartford. “With over 300 items to bid on, there is something for everyone.”

Getaways up for bid include a week stay in Big Bear Lake, CA, Lake Havasu, AZ or a family suite at WorldMark by Wyndham in Indio, CA. Gifts available for auction include a Kindle, a Fitbit watch and jewelry. You also have an opportunity to bid on a day with the GDA trainers and a puppy sponsorship, which covers all costs from birth to 18 months when the puppy is returned to school for its formal training.

“Give a little and get a lot in return,” said Hartford. “Whether you place one bid or bid on every item, your participation is an invaluable part of our fundraising efforts. Through your generosity, you help provide mobility and independence to visually-impaired men and women from across the United States and Canada.”

It costs approximately $42,000 to train a guide dog and provide instruction for its user. Guide Dogs of America provides guide dogs free of charge to blind and visually impaired men and women in the U.S. and Canada.
