Canada Auto Dealership Workers Vote IAM Yes

Employees at three Sault Ste. Marie, ON auto dealerships recently voted for IAM representation, becoming the newest members of IAM Local Lodge 2332.

The 25 new members include Auto Technicians, Service Writers and Parts personnel at Superior Nissan, Detailers and Installers at Superior Custom and Detailing and Auto Technicians who refurbish cars for resale at Superior Used Cars.

“We’re delighted with this organizing win,” said IAM Grand Lodge Representative/Organizer Scott Jackson. “We have four dealerships here in the Soo, we pride ourselves on servicing the membership and their collective agreements speaks for themselves. This new group approached us based on what we have done at the other dealerships. They want a voice in their workplace, better wages and a pension plan, it’s as simple as that.”

The IAM represents automotive workers on Vancouver Island and the lower mainland of British Columbia, in Thunder Bay, Sault Ste. Marie and Toronto in Ontario as well as in New Brunswick and Newfoundland.
