CREST Driving Program Wins Top Safety Award

For the second year in a row, the IAM CREST program at IAM District 15 in New York City is the winner of the National Safety Council’s Defensive Driving Course (DDC) Best Performance Award in New York.

The eight-hour course is provided to New York City black car limo drivers. District 15 has had more than 4,000 drivers complete the award winning training. The purpose is to promote driver safety and reduce accidents.

This class, funded through the New York Black Car Operators’ Injury Compensation Fund, has been provided to New York limo drivers for three years and has just received a contract to complete another three years.

“Congratulations to District 15 DBR Jim Conigliaro, Black Car Training Grant Director Steve McLoughlin and the entire CREST team on another job well done,” said IAM Occupational Safety & Health Director Michael Flynn. “Their receipt of this award means that they’re among what the Council considers to be the finest in driver safety performance centers and instructors. Their hard work and commitment to driver safety and keeping our roadways safe is second to none.”
