Retirees: Join Us in Philly to Rally for Hillary

Seniors know elections matter. It’s why older Americans vote at a higher rate than anyone else.

With the stakes so high and a choice so clear, we need every union retiree to be engaged in this election.

That’s why we’re excited to invite all IAM and TCU retirees to a can’t-miss opportunity to show your support for Hillary Clinton, a proven champion for working people and retired Americans. It’s also a great way to show Donald Trump that seniors stand against his hateful rhetoric and disdain for unions.

During the Democratic National Convention, the Democratic National Committee’s Seniors Coordinating Council (DNCSCC) will gather for a meeting and rally on Wednesday, July 27 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown, Liberty Ballroom, 201 N. 17th St., Philadelphia, PA 19103.

Former IAM Community Services, Retirees and Employee Assistance Director Maria Cordone, who now serves as the DNCSCC’s executive vice chair, will be leading the IAM’s delegation. Edward Manhart, director of the IAM’s retirees department, is coordinating efforts to activate retirees for this show of unity and solidarity.

“Our retirees have a wealth of experience, knowledge and talent,” said IAM International President Bob Martinez. “We are excited to have this opportunity to invite our retirees, so please help us make a strong showing.”

RSVP as soon as possible to Anna Georgallas at 301-967-4717 or ageorgallas@iamaw.org. If you have questions, please contact Maria Cordone at 301-741-5808 or mcordone1@verizon.net.
