Thursday, March 8th is International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day (IWD) celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. Run annually on March 8, the day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. IWD provides an important moment to showcase commitment to women’s equality, launch new initiatives and action, celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness, highlight gender parity gains and more.

The day is celebrated and supported globally by industry, governments, educational institutions, community groups, professional associations, women’s networks, and more.

Collectively we all can make a difference within the sphere of influence by taking concrete action to help drive gender parity. International Women’s Day is s a big day for inspiration and change.

And while we know that gender parity won’t happen overnight, the good news is that across the world women are making positive gains day by day. So we can’t be complacent. International Women’s Day is not country, group or organization specific. The day belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. So together, let’s all be tenacious in accelerating gender parity.
