No new fires reported on ODF protection.

Fires on other jurisdictions
Creed Fire:
This fire is burning on BLM 20 miles east of Wasco. It is currently 12,500 acres and 10 percent contained. The fire started near the John Day River and burned southeast into Hay Canyon. It is burning in grass and light brush being pushed by erratic winds with gusts to 30 mph. Light rain fell over fire area yesterday. Gillam County fire districts and Bureau of Land Management resources are on scene.

Lightning-caused fires: 44 fires burned 2,118 acres
Human-caused fires: 294 fires burned, 365 acres
Total: 338 fires burned 2,483 acres
10-year average (January 1st through the present date in the year):
Lightning-caused fires: 105 fires burned, 5,096 acres
Human-caused fires: 303 fires burned, 1,949 acres
Total: 408 fires burned, 7,045 acres

About this Update

This update provides information chiefly about fires 10 acres or larger on Oregon Department of Forestry-protected lands. ODF provides fire protection on private and state-owned forestland, and Bureau of Land Management forestlands west of the Cascades, and also works closely with partner firefighting agencies.
