Help for IAM Veterans Affected by Harvey

The IAM has compiled a list of resources for members affected by hurricane Harvey. There is additional help available for members who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

The DAV in Houston is providing financial aid for food, clothing and lodging in the amounts of $250 – $500. Texas Veterans can contact their DAV local in Houston at 713-383-2715.

The VFW is also providing financial aid for food, clothing and lodging in same amounts. Veterans will have to call the Texas Department VFW headquarters to submit applications at 512-834-8535.

The IAM Harvey Help Manual includes sections on FEMA, returning home, legal services, unemployment benefits, replacing lost documents, health care and prescriptions, housing challenges, and more.

If you are an IAM member affected by Harvey, you can apply for assistance from the IAM Disaster Relief Fund here.

If you are a Texas union member affected by Harvey, you can apply for assistance from the Texas AFL-CIO Workers Relief Fund.

If you are an IAM member who participates in certain Union Plus programs, you may be eligible for financial assistance through the Union Plus Disaster Relief Grant program.

All IAM members can receive confidential help through the IAM Employee/Member Assistance Program. Our services include, but are not limited to, addictions, mental health, stress, depression and financial hardship.
