Disney Members Ratify Contract 11-30-04 – Members of the Service Trades Council at Walt Disney World ratified a new contract on the fourth vote. TCU is a member of the Service Trades Council. TCU members voted 579 in favor and 156 against the new contract. There were over 6,000 votes cast by all members of the Service Trades Council and the contract was approved by a 59% vote. The vote was close due to the nature of the issues involved in the bargaining. Healthcare was one of the most contentious issues. The new contract provides a combination of wage increases and lump sum payments to the members. In addition other work rule issues were resolved. The new contract is for 3 years. TCU’s negotiating team was lead by International Vice President Joseph Condo, he is also the President of the Service Trades Council. Assisting Joe were Allied Services Division Vice President Gary Lamboy and District 1908 President Randy Sluder. |
