Members of Local 1681 in Edmonton, Alberta ratified a new collective agreement with Servisair Canada Incorporated. There are eight other collective agreements between the IAM and Servisair across Canada that due for renewal this year.
“This is the first of nine agreements to be negotiated with Servisair this year and our goal is to improve the standard of living for all of our members across the country,” said District 140 General Chairperson Keith Aiken.
The three-year agreement provides wage increases as well as pension increases in the second and third years of the accord. Other agreement highlights include the ability to convert unused sick days into vacation days in addition to non-economic improvements
The 120 IAM members at Servisair provide baggage handling services, passenger check-in and aircraft conversion services. The members serve Air North, US Airways, Canadian North, First Air, Air Transat, Sunwing, Canjet, DHL and the Edmonton Airport Authority. The IAM is the largest union in Canada’s air transport industry.
