The National Mediation Board (NMB) today acted on an International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) application and ordered a union representation election for more than 700 Stock & Stores employees at Delta Air Lines.
“The Stock & Stores employees at Delta understand the airline industry is changing and they need protection from some of those changes,” said Transportation GVP Robert Roach, Jr. “An IAM contract will give these employees a measure of stability and the security of knowing their concerns will be respected.”
The NMB set the election to run from October 25 to November 22, 2010. Stock & Stores workers can cast their votes either through a website or by telephone. A separate NMB election for 14,000 Fleet Service workers at Delta is scheduled to run from October 14 to November 18, 2010.
Additional IAM applications are pending for elections on behalf of Delta Air Lines’ Passenger Service and Plant Protection employees.
