Registration is now open for the Basic Newsletter Development Class and Communicator Class, both offered by the IAM Communications Department. Get signed up today for an opportunity to help your local or district improve communications with your brothers and sisters.
The Basic Newsletter Development Class will be held November 13-18, 2016 at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center. The class teaches new editors how to start and publish a newsletter. New to this year’s class is an emphasis on the tools local and district leaders need to dialogue with members in the smartphone age. The class will also cover some social media best practices, and how to effectively manage your limited time to communicate most effectively.

Applications for the Basic Newsletter Development Class must be received by the Communications Department no later than Friday, September 9, 2016.
The IAM’s Communicator Class will be held December 4-9, 2016. This a basic course geared toward lodge Communicators to upgrade their skills and take the lodge communications to the next level. Instruction will be provided in news writing, internet research, desktop publishing and social media practices.
Because the course is designed for the entry-level Communicator, priority will be given to participants who have not attended previous Communications Department courses at the Winpisinger Center.
