Final Push for Wisconsin Recall Efforts

Working families in Wisconsin have until tomorrow, Friday, January 13, 2012, to sign and deliver recall petitions to recall offices and union halls. Petitions to recall union-busting Gov. Scott Walker, along with Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch and four Republican state Senators, will be submitted to the state Government Accountability Board on Tuesday, January 17th.

Organizers need 540,208 signatures to force a recall election of the governor. At least 507,533 signatures were reported to have been collected in mid-December.

Walker triggered a firestorm last year when he introduced a bill to strip public workers of their collective bargaining rights. Despite weeks of around-the-clock protests at the state capitol, the Republican-controlled legislature passed the measure and Walker signed the bill into law in March.

If you or someone you know has not had a chance to sign the petition, now is the time to do it! Download petitions here.
