GDA Hosting Online Auction Through June 15

The 2014 Guide Dogs of America (GDA) Online Silent Auction is now open. The event will run until June 15, 2014 at 9 p.m. EDT.
“We have put some exciting travel and sports packages up for bid online,” said GDA President Dale Hartford. “This will give our supporters from across the country an opportunity to participate.”
Items up for bid include a luxurious week stay at the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar in Cabo, a Kindle tablet and an opportunity to sponsor a newborn puppy. There are over 250 bidding opportunities ranging from entertainment, sports packages and shopping sprees to merchandise for you and your loved ones, including pets.
“Give a little and get a lot in return,” said Hartford. “Whether you place one bid or bid on every item, your participation is an invaluable part of our fundraising efforts. Through your generosity, you help provide mobility and independence to visually-impaired men and women from across the United States and Canada.”
It costs approximately $42,000 to train a guide dog and provide instruction for its user. Guide Dogs of America provides guide dogs free of charge to blind and visually impaired men and women in the U.S. and Canada.
