GDA Online Silent Auction Opens June 4

A day with the Guide Dogs of America puppy trainers is one of many experiences open for bidding in the 2015 GDA Online Silent Auction.

The 2015 Guide Dogs of America (GDA) Online Silent Auction will open on Thursday, June 4. The event will run through June 14, 2015.

“We’ve been busy getting ready and we’re sure that somewhere among the over 330 items we have, there’s something you’ll want to bid on,” said GDA President Dale Hartford.

Items up for bid include a luxurious two-night stay at the Tradewinds Carmel, a Kindle tablet and an opportunity to sponsor a newborn puppy. There are over 330 bidding opportunities ranging from entertainment, sports packages and shopping sprees to merchandise for you and your loved ones, including pets.

“Give a little and get a lot in return,” said Hartford. “Whether you place one bid or bid on every item, your participation is an invaluable part of our fundraising efforts. Through your generosity, you help provide mobility and independence to visually-impaired men and women from across the United States and Canada.”

It costs approximately $42,000 to train a guide dog and provide instruction for its user. Guide Dogs of America provides guide dogs free of charge to blind and visually impaired men and women in the U.S. and Canada.
