Hurricane Irene Hits Home

When Hurricane Irene barreled up the East Coast, the area surrounding the IAM’s William W. Winpisinger Education Center in southern Maryland was in its path. The Center made it through without significant damage, but Instructor Dave Miskolczi and his wife Cindy’s house was not so lucky.

The Miskolczis’ roof was hit by seven trees causing the home to take in 13 inches of rain, damaging more than 50 percent of the home’s interior. They are expected to be out of their home for approximately six to eight months.

“In times like this, it really makes me proud of belonging to an organization that cares,” said Miskolczi, responding to outpouring of support for his family. “No words can ever express our gratitude.”
