“If we don’t stand up for ourselves, who’s going to go out there and fight for us?” said IAM District 142 General Chair Sara Gonzales.
IAM members from ExpressJet and CommutAir took part in the IAM Flight Attendants Conference held at the Winpisinger Center in Hollywood, MD, where they developed a plan of action and lobbied their legislators to get their message across and secure changes to the law.
WATCH: Fight for 10 Hours Rest
“I think all of our fellow flight attendants should advocate for 10 hours rest,” said IAM CommutAir Flight Attendant Mark Diefenbach. “So we can stop being treated like second-class citizens in our industry.”
