Employees and staff at IAM Headquarters recently participated in a blood drive to honor the victims of June’s tragic Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, FL. They donated enough blood to save 84 lives.

“All of the IAM family was affected by the tragedy in Orlando, we all felt the pain,” said IAM General Secretary-Treasurer Dora Cervantes. “We wanted to do something that wouldn’t only be symbolic, but also helpful. Donating life does just that.”

The blood drive, organized by GST Staff Secretaries Jaime Colburn and Kelly Peterson, gave an option to those wanting to help, but were unsure how to do so.

Two IAM members were directly affected by the Pulse nightclub shooting. Southwest Airlines Customer Service Representative (CSR) Angelique Caro was shot and wounded. United Airlines CSR Angel Mendez lost his son, Jean Carlos Mendez Perez.
