About 177 IAM Local 62A (District 26) members at Collins-Aerospace in Cheshire, Conn., overwhelmingly voted to ratify a new three-year deal recently.
The new deal included eliminating the two-tier wage system. It features 3% GWI in each year of the contract, a tenure adjustment: $0.25 at one year of service, $0.25 at three years of service, and $0.50 at five years of service. At ratification, 106 members will see a $1 increase in their base rate due to tenure or a weighted average increase of $0.71 across all members.
With the above adjustments, the average increase in base pay is $1.81 or 7.4% in the first year. Includes a ratification bonus of $2,500 with a 50% match if placed in the savings plan.
“Our members at Local 62A are responsible for the success of Collins Aerospace, and they deserve to be treated fairly at the negotiating table, said IAM Eastern Territory General Vice President David Sullivan. “These members stood strong together throughout these negotiations and fought for a contract worthy of their work at Collins Aerospace. My thanks go out to the entire team at District 26 and Local 62A.”
“Our members deserved a fair contract,” said IAM Local 62A President Mary White. “They’ve earned it through their hard work and dedication to ensure that Collins is successful. My thanks go out to the Negotiating Committee and the membership.”
