IAM Local 774 Open Negotiations With Textron Aviation

WICHITA, Kan., Aug. 12, 2024 – The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) opened contract negotiations with Textron Aviation, representing nearly 5,000 members of IAM Local 774 in Wichita, KS. IAM Local 774 members are instrumental in manufacturing the industry’s best-in-class aircraft at Textron Aviation.

“Our members at Textron Aviation are dedicated workers who deserve a fair contract that recognizes their hard work,” said Lisa Whitley, District 70 President, and Directing Business Representative. “This isn’t just about our members. A good agreement benefits the entire Wichita community. We’re hopeful for a positive outcome for everyone.”

Key issues on the negotiation table include overall wage and benefit improvements. The IAM, unwavering in its commitment, is dedicated to securing a contract that not only addresses these vital concerns but also reflects the hard work and dedication of its members.

“These negotiations are about ensuring our members receive the respect and recognition they deserve for their contributions to Textron Aviation’s success,” said IAM International Southern Territory General Vice President Craig Martin. “Our priority is to achieve a contract that provides our members a secure retirement, fair wages, quality healthcare, and job stability. We are steadfast in our commitment to fighting for these essential rights.”

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers is one of North America’s largest and most diverse industrial trade unions, representing approximately 600,000 active and retired members in the aerospace, defense, airlines, railroad, transit, healthcare, automotive, and other industries.
