IAM Mourns Oklahoma Local 898 Stalwart Bud Lewis

Bud Lewis, a 37-year member of IAM Local 898 and HPWO Coordinator at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, OK, passed away May 3, 2015, after an extended illness.
A master of many trades, Lewis worked with sheet metal, electronics and controls, and in the civilian engineering department at Vance. As a HPWO (High Performance Work Organization) Coordinator, his duties included promoting and supporting the introduction, acceptance and implementation of the HPWO Partnership. Lewis coordinated on-site training and education for IAM members, attended HPWO leadership meetings and chaired natural work group sessions.
“Bud held various offices in his Local and District and worked tirelessly to protect the jobs of our members who work and live in Oklahoma,” said HPWO Partnerships Director Don Kennedy. “He was very active in Smokeaters Lodge 898 and the Oklahoma State Machinists Council and he will be missed.”
