Negotiating committee members from East Alton, IL Local 660 recently completed the Negotiating Preparation for Bargaining Committees Program at the Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, MD.
The week-long class included training in drafting contract language, presenting proposals, analyzing the company’s strengths and weaknesses and identifying a broad array of potential tactics.
“The week at the Winpisinger Center was a real eye-opener for the Committee,” said committee member and District 9 Business Representative Kevin Broemmer. “They worked very hard all week trying to get as much out of the program as they could in order to negotiate the best contract possible. It is a great program and the Staff did a great job teaching the class.”
The Local represents employees at Eaton B-Line in Highland, IL which manufactures electrical and mechanical framing support struts. The current contract expires November 11, 2015.
