IAM Air Transport Territory General Vice President Richie Johnsen continues to travel the country, making station visits to meet directly with IAM members. He recently joined IAM Air Transport Territory Chief of Staff Edison Fraser, and representatives from IAM District 141 and District 142 in Puerto Rico as members discuss upcoming United negotiations and the successful me too language that benefited thousands of Southwest members including those we represent in San Juan.
During the visit Hurricane Ernesto has dropped buckets of rain on Puerto Rico, knocking out power for nearly half of all residents.
“These visits are important to ensure the members know that their leadership has their back,” said Johnsen. “While here any members in need of disaster relief assistance will be give the information.”
International, District, and Local leadership made themselves available to answer questions and concerns from the membership.
“These visits are important,” said Fraser. “Our members must see us in the flesh to know we exist. We are here to help provide the necessary resources in the time of need and throughout their time working on the frontlines.”
