IAM International President Robert Martinez Jr. appointed Andrea Myers as a Special Representative to the IAM Air Transport Territory, effective Nov. 1, 2023.
With an extensive background in the airline industry and a deep commitment to the labor movement, Myers brings a wealth of experience to her new role.
“Having held diverse roles within our union and armed with an extensive background in the airline industry, Andrea is exceptionally qualified for this role,” said Martinez. “Her IAM career reflects transformational skills and makes her a valuable addition to the IAM Air Transport Territory. I look forward to watching Andrea represent our members with pride and honor.”
Myers hails from Detroit and is a dedicated member of IAM Local Lodge 141 and IAM District Lodge 141. Her journey in changing lives began at Mississippi Valley State University, where she majored in Early Childhood Development at Mississippi Valley State University.
Myers, a United Airlines reservation agent since 1999, has held various roles within the union, including serving as a steward, committee person, Local Lodge Secretary-Treasurer, District Lodge 141 Auditor, District Lodge Vice President at Large, and District Lodge 141 Assistant General Chairperson.
Andrea’s impressive resume extends beyond her upcoming role as a Special Representative. She has actively participated in the negotiation of two critical contracts with Spirit Airlines and United Airlines, showcasing her dedication to the betterment of workers in the airline industry.

Myers is no stranger to leadership development, having completed numerous IAM training programs, including Leadership I, Leadership II, Advance Leadership, Train the Trainer, EAP I, Political Training Program, IAM Safety and Health, Women’s Program, Financial Officer Seminar, and Transportation Local Lodge Election Program. She has also been involved in local lodge budgeting and funds management, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively.
Outside of her dedicated work in the labor movement, she enjoys traveling, spending quality moments with her family, camping with friends and loved ones, and gardening in her free time.
