District 776 M1 Members at Sheppard Air Force Base Ratify Strong New Contract

Approximately 550 Local 2771 (District 776) members who work for M1 Support Services at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas have voted overwhelmingly to ratify a strong new contract.

IAM members at the base service the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Program (ENJJPT), the world’s only multi-nationally manned and managed flying training program chartered to produce combat pilots for NATO. Members perform flight operations and maintenance on the T-6 Texan and T-38 Talon aircraft, which are used to train NATO pilots.

“Our Local 2771 members are rightfully proud of the important work they do for NATO and our military,” said IAM District 776 President and Directing Business Representative Paul Black. “They have more than earned this strong contract with many important improvements.”

The new three-year contract includes:

  • Annual pay raises of 5%, 6% and 7%.
  • Company 401(k) contributions rise to $3 per hour by end of contract.
  • No health insurance employee cost increases for first two years of contract, marking five straight years without an increase. Increases by 3% in third year.
  • Increases in multiple premiums
  • All leave is now classified as paid time off and has a cash value when employment terminates for any reason.

“IAM Local 2771 members do incredibly important work for our military and our NATO allies,” said IAM Southern Territory General Vice President Rickey Wallace. “I’m so proud of this committee and our membership for standing strong for a contract that will greatly improve the lives of themselves, their families and their communities.”

“The committee came to the table prepared to deliver a contract that our membership can be proud of—and they have succeeded,” said IAM Aerospace Chief of Staff Jody Bennett. “In addition to strong pay raises, our members can also count on increased retirement security and clarity in future health insurance costs.”
