IAM Western Territory Mourns the Loss of Retired Chief of Staff Robert ‘Bob’ Gregory

The IAM Western Territory is mourning the loss of retired Chief of Staff Robert ‘Bob’ Gregory.

“Bob was a true Fighting Machinist in every sense of the phrase. He was a Journeyman representative, mentor, and a great friend to all,” said Western Territory General Vice President Gary R. Allen. “Bob’s contribution and dedication to the IAM and our Members cannot be overstated. Though his fighting spirit lives on, his presence here on earth will truly be missed.”

In addition to his role as Chief of Staff to General Vice President Lee Pearson, Brother Gregory also served as Directing Business Representative of Local Lodge 946, Grand Lodge Representative, Aerospace Coordinator as well as several Local Lodge positions. He negotiated countless aerospace agreements that positively impacted many generations of Machinists Union members. He never shied away from a good fight for working people!

Brother Gregory also had a passion for Guide Dogs of America and played a pivotal role in the annual Sacramento Classic Auto Show fundraiser that ran for 18 years. Bob’s beloved wife, Robin, passed away on September 11, 2023, which was Bob and Robin’s 70th wedding anniversary.  They will always be remembered as cherished members and a part of the IAM Western Territory Family.

Bob’s celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023, at Redeemer Covenant Church located at 6800 Main Ave., Orangevale, CA 95662.

In lieu of flowers, Brother Gregory’s family has requested donations be considered for Guide Dogs of America.
