On Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023, the IAM will join hundreds of other labor, civil rights and justice organizations in observing the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington.
The program and march will convene at the Lincoln Memorial at 8 a.m. and conclude at approximately 3 p.m. More information on the march can be found at mow2023.com.
The original 1963 march, led by Martin Luther King Jr. and aided by the likes of labor leader A. Philip Randolph, paved the way for passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the 1965 Voting Rights Act. The 60th anniversary march is aiming to reeducate a new generation, heal a divided nation and stand for peace, justice and understanding.
