IAM International President Robert Martinez Jr. has appointed IAM District 9 Business Representative Jennifer Kahl as a Midwest Territory Special Representative. The appointment is effective Dec. 1, 2023.
Kahl joined IAM Local 660 in 1999 when she hired into Olin Winchester Ammunition in East Alton, Ill. She spent the majority of her 20 years at Olin Winchester working in quality control to test and certify ammunition for the U.S. government.
Before becoming a District 9 Business Representative in 2019, Kahl served her Local Lodge as a Steward, Negotiating Committee Member, Conductor Sentinel and Trustee.
“Jennifer is a tremendous addition to our Midwest Territory team,” said IAM Midwest Territory General Vice President Steve Galloway. “Her depth of experience in contract negotiations, servicing, membership engagement and organizing is going to benefit our members in the Midwest Territory as we continue to negotiate strong contracts, grow our union and give back to our communities.”
Kahl has also served co-chair of the Women’s Committee and Community Service Community. She also sits on the board of the local United Way.
