Jobs and Training Priority for UVC

For Union Veterans Council, advocating for jobs and training is a top priority.  Among the main points are strengthen and enforce veterans’ preference laws and advocate that upon discharge from active duty, veterans need to be better informed of their veterans’ preference rights.

Grant Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits to veterans who enroll in apprenticeships, on-the-job training, and vocational training.

Ensure the Congress does not curtail federal support for Helmets to Hardhats and expands similar programs such as Troops to Teachers, Warriors in Welding and Veterans in Construction Electrical.
