Fifty Keewatin Air pilots have joined IAM Local Lodge 2247 in Winnipeg, Canada. They are the second group of Keewatin employees to join the IAM since 25 mechanics and parts personnel were organized in 2012.
“It was quite simple really,” explained IAM District Lodge 181 Directing Business Representative Wayne Relf. “The pilots talked with the mechanics and parts personnel whom we represent about the benefits of union representation and the pilots decided to join our union. Now the pilots have someone who can champion their concerns with management.”
