    Thirty-seven young activists from 26 different countries converged on the William W. Winpisinger Education & Technology Center in Hollywood, Maryland for the International Transport Workers’ Federation Summer School. This was the third summer school aimed at young union activists. Participants shared experiences and advice about building alliances and dealing with employment changes around the world.

    The IAM sponsored three scholarships for college students in honor of International President Tom Buffenbarger and General Secretary-Treasurer Robert Roach, Jr. at the National Meeting of the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) in Boston.
