Reaching middle class status is becoming harder. The Center for American Progress (CAP) held a conference on The Middle Class and the U.S. Economy that focused on how a strong middle class is critical for strong economic growth. The discussion coincided with the release of CAP’s August 2012 report, Making Our Middle Class Stronger: 35 Policies to Revitalize America’s Middle Class.
