Machinists Host Global Tool & Die Conference

The IAM hosted the International Metalworkers’ Federation’s (IMF) Mechanical Engineering Conference, which met this week in Cincinnati, OH.
Taking part in the conference were tool and die-makers from over 14 countries, including Australia; Argentina; Austria; Belgium; Brazil; Czech Republic; Denmark; France; Germany; Sweden; Japan; Italy; Spain and Switzerland. Also taking part in the IMF conference were delegates of the IAM Tool & Dies Conference, which was also meeting in Cincinnati.
In his keynote address to the delegates, IAM President Tom Buffenbarger welcomed those attending, calling them “the unions that make the world work.” During their two-day conference, delegates formulated plans for organizing the unorganized and improving the lives of the workers they currently represent.
