Members of Local 99 in Edmonton, Alberta, have ratified a new two-year collective agreement with Finning International.
“Money was actually settled relatively quickly,” said District 14 Business Representative Kevin Clark. “It was everything else that almost consumed seven months of tough bargaining.”
Among the agreement highlights are: long term disability increased to $5,000 per month; boot and safety allowance increased; vision care increased from $200 to $250; paramedical per visit benefit increased to $500 per year; dental coverage increased from $2,000 to $3,000 per person and orthodontic coverage increased from $2,000 to $3,000 per person.
The 1,750 members employed by Finning International in Alberta and the Northwest Territories, provide maintenance and servicing of heavy equipment used in the tar sands oil projects and natural gas industry.
