New York Local 2920 Members Ratify Improved Contract at Amentum AFM East II in Ft. Drum

Approximately 110 IAM Local 2920 (District 65) members at Amentum AFM East II in Fort Drum, NY ratified a new four-year contract last week.

The new deal includes wage increases, including a six percent compensation gain in the first year, seven days of PPT/Sick Leave, increases to their automatic 401(k) contributions and improved seniority language. The contract also provides Flexible Benefit Credits to all fulltime employees, meaning the new flexible spending credit can be used towards the cost of healthcare. If the employee opts to waive their insurance coverage, those credits will go directly into their wages.

“It was a privilege to work with this committee,” said IAM Aerospace Coordinator Tony Wirth. “They were all very professional and knew exactly what their membership wanted. Congratulations to them, their membership and Business Representative Mike Zank for leading them to a good agreement.

“I am very happy with the preparation and professionalism the committee exhibited through the whole process that made the negotiations a huge success,” said Mike Zank, IAM District 65 Business Representative.

“I want to congratulate Local 2920 members for achieving a great contract that will provide many quality-of-life improvements for them and their families,” said IAM Aerospace General Vice President Mark Blondin. “I’d like to thank the Negotiating Committee for their determination and preparedness and Aerospace Coordinator Tony Wirth for his assistance and guidance during these negotiations. Their collective knowledge allowed us to achieve these gains for our members.”

“Our members at Local 2920 perform important services that help keep our country safe, so this great contract is richly deserved,” said IAM Eastern General Vice President Brian Bryant. “I congratulate all the local members, Negotiating Committee and Aerospace Department. A special thanks goes to IAM District 65 Business Representative Mike Zank for tirelessly working to accomplish such a progressive contract.”

The AFM program is a Army contract where Amentum provides aviation field maintenance and sustainment level maintenance services for the U.S. Army. At Fort Drum, they have three different types of aircraft, Apache, Chinook and Blackhawk helicopters, which our members maintain and repair.
