The National Mediation Board (NMB) issued a Single Carrier Ruling for the combined Stock and Stores employees. This ruling follows similar rulings for Fleet Service and Passenger Service classifications and confirms that Delta is operating as a single carrier in these three classifications.
The ruling begins a 14-day period which is the final opportunity for pre-merger Delta Stock and Stores employees to submit signed election request cards.
The signed cards indicate support for a secret ballot election and do not constitute a vote for or against union representation. The cards are used by the NMB to determine if there is “sufficient interest” for an election among employees in the Stock and Stores classification.
This 14-day period will end on September 23, 2010.
If a sufficient number of cards are submitted, the NMB will notify employees and schedule a secret ballot election.
Any pre-merger Delta employee in the Stock and Stores classification who has not recently submitted a signed and dated election request card should do so without delay. Election request cards are only valid for 12 months from the date they are signed. Additional cards are available from any IAM representative, by calling 1-800-998-3554, or by completing a form at www.IAM4Delta.org.
As always, the election request cards will remain strictly confidential and Delta representatives are not permitted to know which employees submitted cards.
