The IAM will host the 2011 International Human Rights Conference from September 1 – 5 at the Buena Vista Palace in the Walt Disney Resort, Lake Buena Vista, FL. The event will highlight the importance of diversity in the house of labor and will include the concerns of women activists, human rights activists, younger workers and community services activists.
“While the new year is only beginning, we can already see the outlines of major challenges for human rights activists on the political, social and economic horizons,” said IAM Executive Assistant Diane Babineaux, who is coordinating the conference. “It’s more important than ever that we coordinate our efforts and take full advantage of our resources in every demographic.”
While the official call is forthcoming, members can make hotel reservations now. To receive the discounted room rate of $109 per night plus tax, call the Buena Vista Palace at 1-866-246-6563 and give the group code of 0831577IH or indicate you are with IAMAW or the Machinists Union.
