After nearly 25 years as an IAM member, Aerospace Department Chief of Staff Ray Moffatt began his retirement on October 1, 2016.

“Ray’s valuable skills and judgment in the Service Contract arena will be greatly missed,” said IAM International President Bob Martinez. “His background brought significant organizing, bargaining and servicing experience to the IAM.”

A former U.S. Marine Corps officer and pilot, Moffatt worked as a flight instructor under a Service Contract. He joined the IAM in 1992 after its affiliation with the Association of Flight Training Professionals.

He served as Negotiating Committee Member, Treasurer and President of Pensacola Local 2902. Moffatt also served as an Organizer for District 75, Special Representative in the Southern Territory, Grand Lodge Representative in the Organizing Department and Aerospace Coordinator, prior to his position as Chief of Staff.

“We are losing one of the most knowledgeable people we have in regards to the Service Contract Act,” said IAM Southern Territory General Vice President Mark Blondin. “He is a great friend and was instrumental in the development of other Southern Territory representatives in the SCA, and in other parts of the country.”
