December 17, 2010 is the last day to take advantage of the reduced registration fee for the 2011 AFL-CIO Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Observance. The MLK observance will be held January 13-17 in Cincinnati, OH, a city with a rich civil rights history and one of the last stops on the Underground Railroad.
Participants may also take advantage of a special room rate of $89 per night at the Millennium Hotel Cincinnati. The deadline for reduced rate room reservations is December 31, 2010. Participants can make hotel reservations online at www.millenniumhotels.com/cincinnati and use access code 1101AFLCIO when prompted. If you prefer to call for reservations, you should call 1-800-876-2100.
As in past MLK Holiday observances, there will be a day of community service in addition to a full schedule of speakers, workshops, an awards banquet and an education day. The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade will take place on January 17.
