The deadline to register for the Community Service Class, by the IAM Retirees, Community and Member Services Department, has been extended to September 24.
The class will be held at the William W. Winpisinger Center in Hollywood, MD on November 16-21.
IAM Official Circular 816, Community Service in the IAM, directs all IAM lodges to establish a Community Service Committee. The class helps lodges start new committees and supports the activities of lodges with established committees. When IAM members experience problems relating to their families, health, finances or a natural disaster, a local or district Community Service Committee can make a tremendous difference in their lives. Committees are also taught how to reach out to unemployed brothers and sisters and referring them to local resources.
