Retired GVP Jim Brown Elected to Advisory Council

Jim Brown, retired IAM General Vice President for the Midwest Territory, has been elected to serve as Vice Chair of the Missouri Foundation for Health (MFH) Community Advisory Council (CAC).

The 13-member CAC serves as a liaison between Missouri’s communities and the MFH Board of Directors. CAC representatives gather community input on health issues and helps ensure the Board has a clear understanding of how its grants are impacting the communities and what health concerns need to be addressed. This information helps the Board with its strategic planning and in awarding grants; placing special focus on programs for the uninsured, underinsured and underserved.

Brown retired as GVP in 2006, having served IAM members faithfully for 42 years.

The MFH is an independent philanthropic organization whose Board distributes $40 million to $50 million in grants and contracts each year to nonprofits working to improve the health of the state’s underserved population.
