Machinists District Lodge 751 in Seattle, WA has launched a new YouTube channel with videos that show Machinists making a difference in their communities.
The new site — www.youtube.com/iambuildingcommunity — features videos of members of the Machinists Volunteer Program working on their community service projects and videos from District 751’s fundraising efforts on behalf of Guide Dogs of America. It also includes videos of IAM members performing other types of volunteer work in their communities.
It’s one of several new social media projects for the District, which also has a Facebook page (www.facebook.com/iam751), a Twitter account (www.twitter.com/iam751) and a blog (http://iam751.wordpress.com/).
“Our goal with all of these is to keep members informed, with news about their Union and their employers,” District 751 President Tom Wroblewski said. “We also want to let others know about all the things we do as Machinists, both to make the companies we work for successful and to improve the quality of life in the places where we live.”
