Senate Confirms New FRA Administrator Joseph Boardman was confirmed on Thursday, April 28th as the new Federal Railroad Administrator. Approved by voice vote, New York state transportation commissioner Boardman was nominated by President Bush and his nomination was supported by both New York Senators, Charles Schumer and Hillary Rodham Clinton. Boardman is a supporter of Amtrak. During his nomination hearing he stated that Congress and the administration should be able to find a way to fix the troubled passenger rail service. |
