Urge your Representative in Congress to support HR 2378, the Currency Reform for Fair Trade Act.
This bill will apply duties to the goods produced by countries that illegally manipulate their currency, most notably China. Currency manipulation enables countries like China to artificially lower the cost of their exports to the U.S. while increasing the cost of our goods in the global market. This unfair trade practice has contributed to an enormous trade imbalance between the U.S. and China and the decline of U.S. manufacturing.
“Like a cancer eating away at the heart of the American economy, the trade imbalance with China contributed significantly to the loss of nearly six million U.S. manufacturing jobs in the last decade,” said IAM International President Tom Buffenbarger in a letter to House members. “The time for talk is over… For the health of the U.S. economy, Congress must act.”
