Tell Your Jobs Story to Congress

Congressional Democrats working on President Obama’s American Jobs Act want to hear from the long-term unemployed and others.

House Education and Workforce Committee Ranking Democrat, Rep. George Miller has announced an eForum to gather personal stories from Americans in the areas of education, construction and long-term unemployment. Miller says this fact-finding forum is designed to gather information to help Congress understand conditions on the ground in communities across the country.

“I’m sure that most Americans can [agree] on at least one thing – getting Americans back to work should be the top priority for Congress. The problem is, it’s not,” wrote Miller. “That’s why Congress needs to hear from you.”

The GOP majority on the House Education and the Workforce Committee has not had a hearing or scheduled a vote on the American Jobs Act.
