Tentative Agreement Reached for 2,000 ASWC Members

March 8, 2004 -The Amtrak Service Workers Council (ASWC) reached a tentative agreement with Amtrak on Friday, March 5, covering approximately 2,000 on-board service workers.

The tentative agreement settles wages, health and welfare, and rules for the period January 1, 2000 through December 31, 2004. Details of the agreement will be in the ratification packages now being prepared for distribution to the membership.

The ASWC is comprised of the Hotel Employees & Restaurant Employees Union (HERE), the Transportation Communications Union (TCU), and the Transport Workers Union (TWU).

Workers represented by the ASWC include chefs, food specialists, lead service attendants, service attendants and train attendants.
